I am on the move soon. Keepin' going on twitter for the time being at twitter.com/leongilbert
I started all this back in 2002 and here is some feedback I've received over the years:-
"For up-to-date daily links to blindness and visual impairment related news stories from around the world, go to the English web site www.vipnews.org.uk. Each item has a brief description of the story and a geographical location. Items are presented in a screen reader friendly way, and the site is a first-rate collection of links to world media." (New York State Talking Book & Braille Library)
"I am a big fan of your site, which I think provides a very valuable service." (Mark Drury, National Library for the Blind U K).
"Thanks for everything you folks do to get the blind news online to us. I know how it feels to work on something and not get feedback, and I want to insure you that what you do is appreciated" (Michael McCarty, Fred's Head Database Coordinator, American Printing House for the Blind.)
"I love your service!" (Mike Calvo, Freedombox Inc.)
"Leon has raised the action of finding news articles of interest to our community to a high art." (Chris Hofstader, Blind Confidential)
"Your postings appear throughout our programming, because they fit into so many different genres... I love it. Thanks for all you do." (Stuart Holland, Manager, Minnesota Radio Talking Book Network)
"..a valuable resource for me professionally and personally" (Allan Russell, broadcast producer, Insight Radio)
"I couldn't hope to locate a fraction of what you've found over the past years. With grateful thanks from the teachers of the visually impaired in China (some of whom *are* VIPs) , & the English end of China Vision" (Chris McMillan, ChinaVision.org.uk )
"I've used VIPNews on and off many times over the past few years and have found it to be an interesting and informative source of stories of general interest to VIPs" (P. Callus)
"Just wanted to say that I think the newsletter is fantastic. At present I have google set up to almost search for articles I might find interesting but I will not need it now as you have it all in one place. Keep up the great work, I shall look forward to reading more of these newsletters." (Diane.F)
"I've always had a rather blinkered attitude to news about VI people in general, and my opinion has generally been that if it is worth hearing about then I'll hear about it at some point. However, having read your newsletter, and as a consequence, reviewed your site, I'm glad to be able to say that it has changed my attitude radically" (Dave.R)
"Obviously it is incredibly useful and I am promoting it around the WBU." (Chris Friend, World Blind Union)
